FTEA Region Four

Welcome to the West Central Region of FTEA.

Region Four

President: Justin Devine, The School Board of Sarasota County

Region 4 Meeting - March 10, 2007

We had a fine meeting with a kickoff tour at the Hydro-Stacker farm. This is a hydroponics facility with many thousands of strawberry plants growing vertically - no stooping or kneeling required. We enjoyed our host's hospitality and had a bounty of some of the tastiest strawberries ever. The meeting continued in Bill Kebler's tech lab at Nolan Middle School - Bradenton with an excellent workshop on wind generators. Joel Kaplan provided use with a wealth of material from Pitsco and gave us a fine hands-on chance to build the mother-of-all-kits. See the photos below for some of the most unique and strange wind generator designs ever created. We concluded the activities ith a burger feast from President Justin Devine.
